Prof. Mahendra Chouhan is a thought leader, strategist and an institution builder, recognized for his commitment to business excellence and contribution to long term value creation for sustainable Businesses in India and Asia Region. Founding Chairman of Fino Payments Bank, he has over 20 years of experience as independent director on the boards of many companies from several sectors like banking, NBFCs, IT, pharmaceuticals, housing finance, logistics, education finance, capital goods, online marketplace company, exhibitions & exposition etc. A renowned thought leader in Corporate Governance, Sustainability, ESG & SDGs space. He has been consultant to International Finance Corporation - World Bank Group and holds a certificate from Global Corporate Governance Forum, IFC - World Bank Group, as trainer for the board of directors and has conducted several board retreats and trained many board members.
He is a visiting faculty at many B-Schools including Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies (JBIMS), Has taught at IIT Mumbai’s Shailesh J. Mehta School of Management (SJMSOM), NMIMS and at International Law School of Tilburg University, Netherlands. He is also a faculty for several Director Training Programmes conducted by Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs (IICA), which is a part of Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA), Govt. of India. He has conducted several board leadership retreats and trained many board members and corporate leaders over the last two decades.
He is Chairman of Mahendra & Young Knowledge Foundation
and Vice Chairman - Global Advisory Board, Asian Centre for Corporate Governance & Sustainability.
He is an institution builder and has co-founded, with his mentor Judge Mervyn King, two non profit institutions viz; Asian Centre for Corporate Governance & Sustainability and Mervyn King Academy for Sustainable Development in Asia.
Outside India, Prof. Chouhan is Member of the Global Board of International Institute of Governance & Leadership, Netherlands and Member of the prestigious Integrated Reporting and Connectivity Council (IRCC), an advisory body of the IFRS Foundation – IASB and ISSB.
